These clients came to us by way of local Architect Paul DeGroot (degrootarchitect.com). We have had the pleasure of working with Paul on several remodel and addition projects in and around the Northwest Hills area of Austin.

These clients were looking to expand on their home with a simple, elegant, and functional covered patio they and their growing family could enjoy year round! Paul and his team provided the architectural design and permit, and TRS supported final material and color selections such as tile, paint color, and hue for the cumaru hardwood ceiling that provides the perfect finishing touch.

This standalone design has the benefit that it does not need to be integrated into the existing roof, however the wide spans do require steel structural support if one wants to avoid having support posts around the perimeter.

These simple covered patios are perfect for our Central Texas weather, blocking the sun and using a ceiling fan to comfortable environment even through our sweltering summers.
