Kitchen Remodel

A friend of mine recommended TRS Build for my remodeling project, and it was some of the best advice I have gotten. Shaniko, Annmarie and their team were very easy to work with and handled all my questions, as this was my first time working with a contractor. During the initial discussions, they made some suggestions to change the scope and direction of the project, but they were right, that change added much more value to the overall finished project. They took on remodeling the Kitchen, Living Room and Dining Room, including new flooring, baseboards, new cabinets and counter tops in the kitchen, removal of the popcorn ceiling texture and then retexture, and addition of recessed lighting. Annemarie was very helpful when it came time to select colors and materials, and I am very happy with the results.

The initial time estimate for completion was 8 weeks, but they were able to finish in 6. All of the crews that TRS Build used, demolition, paint, flooring, electrical and cabinets were courteous and easy to work with. They were respectful of my property and of my time. The work that they did was all very high quality and looks great. There were a couple of change orders during the project and those were very easy to do. When it came time for the post remodel walk through, a few very minor issues were identified, and those issues were resolved very quickly and to my complete satisfaction.

I initially had trepidation about hiring out a remodel job, based on horror stories about contractors I had heard from so many friends. TRS Build is exactly the opposite of those stories. The team was easy to work with, the process was straight forward and well laid out, and all my expectations were met. TRS Build took my house that was built in 1989 and brought it into the 2020’s. I highly recommend TRS Build and will use them again on my next remodel project.

Building a Second Story Addition

Last year in November, we embarked on a big project - with TRS build - of adding a 2nd story to our existing beautiful home. The project adds around ~1,600 sqf to our existing home. And with no reservations TRS build delivered.

From the first day what we loved about the team was they were very organized and made it easy to work with them. TRS build was not the only company we contacted during our research phase. However, they stood out to us in their customer service and timely effective communication. Annemarie and Shaniko were so easy to work with from the first day they showed up to our home. As we progressed in the project we really enjoyed the collaborative work with their designer and structural engineer to get the design to a place we were very happy with. During that process, the team took our vision and subsequent many pivots with positivity and delivered the design we envisioned.

After the city and HOA permits were secured, the scary and fun part started. We saw our 5 year old beautiful home partially demolished and rebuilt in a span of 6 months (3 months ahead of schedule). Their team on the ground were a delight to work with throughout the demo, footing addition, framing, roofing, electrical work, plumbing, stucco, finishing and etc… I give a lot of credit and thanks to Walter - TRS build’s infinitely patient project manager - who made it all come together.

We have been back to our home since June this year and we are enjoying our beautiful home. We have had to make 1 warranty call since we moved in and TRS build took care of it in a reasonable time.

Build a Sunroom

"We started our sunroom project with another contractor in the spring of 2022 and by July we had a slab and most of the framing done. That contractor disappeared and left us with that partially completed project. TRS Build to the rescue! They were able to get the city approval for what had been completed by the other contractor and finished the project with a minimum of rework. They were always friendly and professional in dealing with us and communicated their plans to be accomplished each week. As expected, some of those plans fell through, but we appreciated their keeping us in the loop of what was happening with the project. As we were told in the beginning, there were some highs and some lows as we progressed through the process, but in the end, we are extremely satisfied with our finished sunroom."

"We recently enlisted TRS Build to handle the renovation of our daughters' bedroom closet and several other jobs in our house we couldn't be happier with the outcome!

“We are so happy with the completion of our little project. Every step of the home remodeling process was made easy. We are very happy with TRS making it easy to accomplish our goals.

We wanted to make extra space out of our existing home setup. We needed an extra bedroom, an upgrade play-space for the kids, and some restructuring of the the kitchen to make the space more usable, we also added a closet under the stairs.

Anne-Marie really helped us get our vision off the ground, we were able to bounce ideas off of her, and get an idea of costs and complication of the work that would be done. She was also very accommodating with our desire to do some minor parts of the work ourselves in order to save money on the project.

Jenny made our vision come to life once we knew exactly what we were going to do with our project. We were very happy with the plans that she made and she gave us plenty of updates until we were totally happy with the whole project.

We weren't sure what to expect when the construction started. We planned to stay in the house while the work was going on. We were able to plan for the demo to take place while we went on a family trip.

TRS was so flexible throughout the whole process. Walter was our project manager, and if we needed something, or requested work to be done on different parts of the house of the day, he made it happen. We both work from home so we have meetings throughout the week.

The crew was very respectful of our time, space and personal needs as a family of 5. Walter, made sure things got done where and when needed, he always double checked with us before any changes were made, and he made sure that we were happy with every piece of work was done throughout the process.

There were some minor inconveniences during the process, but that really can't be helped when you are living in the same place where construction is happening.

I really can't recommend TRS enough, if we ever have another build/upgrade to accomplish, we will definitely be reaching out again. It is so nice to have a builder that you can trust.

“When we first set out to build our addition, we had a general sense of what we wanted, but we didn't know how to get there, how long it would take, or what it would cost. After several interviews with companies around Austin, it was ultimately the sense of genuine honesty and caring from Annemarie that made TRS Build the obvious choice.

TRS Build guided us through the entire process, from design to construction, taking care to work around our busy lives (we had a baby and broke ground at nearly the same time!). During the design phase, TRS Build provided several options based on our general ideas and some photos of rooms/styles we liked. We also had several iterations of material selection based on choices presented by the team which helped us not be overwhelmed with the immense variety that exists.

After design, came the long wait for permits, which honestly was the toughest part of the entire experience. TRS Build handled all of this for us, and communicated often to ensure we knew the status and what to expect next. Ultimately this step was entirely up to the city and out of our hands.

Once permits were granted we moved to the exciting and chaotic construction stage. At this point we had a newborn and spent a few months sleeping in our living room or at our in-laws'. TRS Build was completely understanding of our situation and though there were many new faces and noises throughout the day, we never felt like our lives were too disrupted by the construction. One thing I'd like to add is that, while sometimes communication was a bit delayed, all of my questions and requests were ultimately addressed to my satisfaction.

In the end, it's difficult to convey just how happy we are with the job done by TRS Build. Our family was quickly outgrowing the space, and the addition designed and built by TRS Build has given us some much needed breathing room. We now have a beautiful master bedroom and a sanctuary of a master bathroom that includes a walk in shower & tub area which our entire family (kids included) absolutely love. In fact, we look forward to family bath time because the wet room makes it so easy! We're a few months post-construction now and I can still confidently say without a doubt that we are so happy we chose TRS Build for our project and will happily choose them again for future projects.

“We hired The Right Stage- TRS Build to do an 800 SF addition connecting onto our existing home. Basically building an entire small house from the ground up! They created a beautiful and functional handicapped accessible space/ home for my 81 year old mother. A change in life circumstances necessitated her either moving to an assisted/independent living facility (which during Covid wasn't really an option) or build on to our home and create her own "apartment." Due to our families situation, this was a very emotional and stressful time for us. Shaniko and Annemarie were very understanding, respectful and became almost like family to us as they helped us navigate through every phase of this build.

We had an unusual site location and footprint we were working with in regards to where we wanted this addition to be built. AnneMarie worked patiently and diligently with me (and my mom) on the design, floor plan and layout, and the many tweaks we requested to get it just right, all while keeping within our desired budget.

Every step of the way they kept in constant communication with me, and I knew what to expect each week.

I know it was a big undertaking and was truly amazing to see it all come together. This review is long overdue, but I cannot imagine working with any other team. More than 5 Stars is deserved!!!”

“We have done three major remodels on our home over the last few years, each time using a different contractor. " We contracted with TRS Build at the very beginning of COVID. They came out to review our project with their masks and their ideas. We wanted the addition to have a higher ceiling than the rest of the house which made things a little more complicated, but they worked it out. The project ended up so nice, we turned the new additional bedroom and bath into my "Lady's Lair"! The bathroom is spectacular! …This was a big project. In addition to raising the roof/ceiling, they moved windows, reusing them in other places, matched the stonework on our home perfectly, and extended our dining room. They were there to oversee the project often. When we had a question or idea, they listened and together we made it happen or opted for an alternative. We were determined to stay within out budget - and we did!... We have contracted with other firms for various things from building a stand alone garage to sidewalks and retaining walls, none of them had the finished quality of TRS Build. Unfortunately. It was a pleasure working with them. They are personable and they really do care about what you want. They are so family oriented they embrace their clients as an extension of that. From our perspective, you can't go wrong using them for whatever building or remodeling project you have.”

“Very professional and does a great job. We needed our deck from the 2nd Story redone and needed a media room created, closing in a large open area on our second floor. This needed an experienced contractor crew to build walls, add two doors, remove windows, as well as add lights, and painting. This work was completed to full satisfaction by both my wife and I.  The crew was very polite and kept the house clean with putting down plastic and floor coverings to ensure. In the end they even provided a cleaner to ensure all dust was removed from carpet and furniture.”

They were able to quickly send us an estimate based on our vision and Gaby was a big help with material/product selection. We were torn between a few different tile choices but Jennys renderings helped us visualize the change and make a decision quickly. The renovation itself took some time but they were able to work around our planned vacation time. The contractors did a great job and took precautions to protect our carpeted hallways and clean up at the end of the day, which we appreciate since we have a 10 month old crawling around. They did a wonderful job. I was skeptical in the beginning. They are construction guys but they are really artisans. This was a tough job. They had a load bearing wall they had to move and they did and they made it stronger. They returned my calls right away and they were very timely. I took quotes from several companies and some would not touch the the load bearing wall. Out of the quotes he was the most reasonably priced. I am very happy.

“We have never used a remodeling company before as you hear the horror stories of how some companies show up then never come back. We also had contacted 2 other companies for bids - they would come to view the project and never contact us back with an estimate. THE RIGHT STAGE showed up on time and let us know when they were on there way from the beginning. We were pleased that we were kept in the loop with the process and that workers were on site and worked for the entire time that they were at our home. We did have a few changes but THE RIGHT STAGE always incorporated our changes into the plan and limited any down time. I was able to contact THE RIGHT STAGE any time and they were quick to

respond. This happened during Covid and the workers used masks and kept distance during any face to face communications. We would recommend and will use them again for our next project!”
