Manzanita - Kitchen Remodel - Austin
This family was looking for a lighter brighter look for their kitchen, open a load bearing wall between the kitchen and living room, and replace buffet cabinets with a peninsula to allow for a separate seating area when cooking for family events. A new countertop and improved island design, while keeping and adding to the original pecan cabinets. One design feature was to stain the cabinets with a white washed look that would allow for a lighter color while still allowing some of the grain of the pecan to show through. Custom carpentry and painting yielded a beautiful result that met the client’s desire for a brighter kitchen reminiscent of old world style with the fun of a day at the beach. Carpentry work included extending cabinets to ceiling height, island modifications to beautify the island (and new peninsula) with shiplap on end pieces and a new coffee station area. Topped with a beautiful quartzite counter, gorgeous handmade glass pendants, and herringbone pattern flooring. Simple colors loaded with texture and pattern for a beautiful result.
